Happy New Year!
This week I was going to write some technical tips for sticking to your New Year’s resolutions and taking care of yourself in 2023. But I did it last year and it wouldn’t change much from what I wrote then. So instead I thought I’d kick off the year by sharing a fun tech tool to use in the classroom.
animate from audio Hosted by Adobe Express is a fun little tool that matches your spoken words to an animated character of your choice. The finished product is a short video that you can download as an MP4 or share on your favorite websites.
To create a video with animate from audio just head over to the site and then select the character you want to animate. Then record your spoken audio. After recording your audio, Adobe Express matches your audio to the movements of your chosen character. The more inflection in your speech, the more movement you will see in the character. Look at this video to see how animate from audio plays.
three ideas to use animate from audio
- Have students create short animated videos to introduce themselves to their new classmates online or in person.
- Ask students to record themselves reading stories they have written.
- combine some animate from audio videos to create a short comic.
A new course to start 2023!
Last month I hosted a webinar on creating and selling digital learning products. There were so many follow up questions that it quickly became clear to me that I needed to create a longer course on the same topic. So that’s what I did. How to Create and Sell Your Own Digital Products is now a four-part course starting January 10. Learn more and sign up here!
