A new year brings emotion and plans to improve teaching and learning. And this new beginning can be a good time to learn new emerging skills or nourish. With the influx of new technologies and the infusted ai in many of the edtech tools that we have come to enjoy in our work as educators, it may be useful to participate in self -directed professional learning opportunities.
Many of the widely available edtech tools offer free training. Some are specific to a larger tool function, while others provide general guidance on key characteristics and uses. In addition, at the end and, depending on the tool, you can obtain a certificate of completion, certification, badge, microcredial or some other recognition of its competence won to your curriculum or CV.
Here I share six of the main free edtech credentials (in alphabetical order) available:
The Adobe Creative Educator (ACE) level training focuses on understanding creativity and how Nourish creativity in students
Apple's teacher program builds fundamental skills using iPad and Mac devices and Apple applications within the integration of academic lessons. Twelve badges in total are available to win; 6 For iPad and 6 for Mac. Apple applications, including pages, key note, numbers, imovie and garage, are covered. If your school uses Apple devices, it can be worth deepening in some of the less used Apple applications. You can continue and develop a Apple Teachers Portfolio
The training of certified authors of Book Creator provides educators instructions on the various characteristics of Book Creator, preparing them to use it in their own classrooms. Teachers, librarians and media specialists may be interested in training. The process implies 18 short videos in total, and a certificate and a digital badge are obtained at the end. Book Creator has a wide variety of uses
Canva Graphic Design Essentials focuses on building general visual communication skills. Training includes principles of color design and theory. You must log in to a free or paid Canva account to complete the corresponding training and test. Do not worry, you can complete the test as many times as necessary, and once you pass, Canva will send you a digital certificate by email. Using Eduzzzle in lessons plans
The Screensastify Master Screenter is a certification course that reviews and creates knowledge about the basic concepts of capture collection and the use of videos in educational environments. This certification focuses on multiple interested parties, including students and parents, and will guide it to Create videos for students
As you can see, there are many options to obtain an edtech credential that will not have a financial cost for you! Hopefully there is at least one aforementioned credential who is interested in obtaining and using to improve teaching and learning.
