You may not have to pay much to beef up your smart home security. Amazon is selling Blink devices for up to 43 percent off, including a Video Doorbell plus a sync module. for $60 (normally $85) – that’s close to an all-time low. You can also get the doorbell just for only $40 if you already have timing hardware. Most camera kits are also for sale, starting at at $70 (normally $100) for the weather-ready Blink Outdoor.
Blink is effectively the budget counterpart to Amazon’s Ring brand, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing: you get a lot of functionality for a lower price. Video Doorbell supports wired and wireless connections, offers two-way audio, captures infrared images at night, and gives you the option to store clips locally (on a USB drive) or in the cloud with a subscription plan. It also connects to Alexa devices, so it can be your go-to doorbell if you have an Echo Show.
Meanwhile, the Blink Indoor and Outdoor models remain our top picks for wireless security cameras. You get much of the same flexibility as with the doorbell, including up to two years of battery life. Again, you’ll need to invest in the Alexa ecosystem to get the most out of these products. However, if you can live with it, you may not have many complaints.
