Black Friday is still a few days away, but several stores have already started their annual Christmas sales. That means it's a good time to be in the market for new storage equipment. If you're looking to get more out of a gaming PC, tablet, or handheld, we've picked out the best Black Friday SSD and storage deals we could find below.
Before you browse, keep in mind that storage prices have generally been trending upward in recent months, so many of these discounts are not the lowest prices we've ever seen. Still, all of the SSDs, portable drives, microSD cards, and other devices we highlight below are at least cheaper than they have been in several months. We will continue to update this post through Black Friday as prices change and more discounts emerge.

WD Black SN850X (2TB) PCIe 4.0 SSD for $124 at amazon ($66 off MSRP): The speedy WD Black SN850X is the top PCIe 4.0 drive in our guide to the best SSDs, making it a great “default” choice for gaming or general use. This is far from the best historical price of the 2TB model, but it is the biggest discount we have seen in 2024. Also at B&H, Adorama and Newegg. If you are buying a PS5, one <a target="_blank" data-i13n="elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:8;pos:1" class="link " href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B7CKZGN6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1&tag=gdgt0c-p-o-4t4-20″ rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank” data-ylk=”slk:version with a heatsink;elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:8;pos:1;itc:0;sec:content-canvas”>version with heat sink It's on sale for $9 more. And if you need (tons) more space, the 8TB variant has dropped to a new low of $550, although stock has been spotty.
-
Crucial T705 (1TB) PCIe 5.0 SSD with Heatsink for $130 at amazon ($136 off): Most people don't need to pay more for a super-fast PCIe 5.0 drive like the T705, but if you want the best (and have a compatible motherboard), its raw performance is almost unmatched. This is the lowest price we've tracked for the 1TB model with heatsink. Also in B&H. If you already have a compatible heatsink, the standard version is available for $10 less, which is another all-time low.
-
Crucial P3 (2TB) PCIe 3.0 SSD for $105 at amazon ($50 off): If you're looking to upgrade an older system, the Crucial P3 is the PCIe 3.0 option in our SSD buying guide. This deal is well below the all-time low for the 2TB version (it was in the $75 range this time last year), but it's the best price we could find since February. Also at B&H, Best buy and others.
-
Crucial X9 Pro Portable SSD (1TB) for $80 at amazon ($21 off): The Crucial X9 Pro is our pick for the best portable SSD, offering reliable performance for most daily tasks in a compact and rugged design. The 1TB version dropped as low as $60 last year, but this is the biggest discount we've seen in 2024. It's a similar situation for the 2TB model, which is down to $120. Also in Crucial, B&H and Best buy.
-
Kingston XS1000 Portable SSD (1TB) for $64 at amazon ($21 off): The Kingston XS1000 takes second place in our portable SSD guide. It performs similarly to the X9 Pro across the board, but it's not waterproof, doesn't come with a USB-C to USB-C cable, and gets a little toastier with prolonged use. Still, it has great value. This deal is within a dollar of the all-time low for the 1TB model. Also in <a target="_blank" data-i13n="cpos:23;pos:1" href="https://shop.kingston.com/products/xs1000-external-ssd?variant=45427988857024″ rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank” data-ylk=”slk:Kingston;cpos:23;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas” class=”link “>Kingston. If you need something more spacious, the 2TB version is about $18 off its regular retail price of $102.
-
Crucial X10 Pro Portable SSD (1TB) for $91 at amazon ($59 off): The X10 Pro is essentially a faster version of our favorite portable SSD, although you'll only see the difference if you have a device that supports USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 speeds. This deal beats the previous low for the 1TB drive by a dollar. Also in Crucial, B&H and Best buy.
-
Samsung Fit Plus USB Flash Drive (256GB) for $19 at amazon ($6 off): The ultra-compact Fit Plus is the USB drive we recommend in our SSD buying guide. It's not very fast, but it will do the basic job and is small enough to fit on a keychain. While not an all-time low, this modest discount drops the 256GB variant to its lowest price since January. Also in B&H.
-
Kingston Canvas Go Plus microSD Card (128GB) for $11 at B&H ($6 off): We consider the Canvas Go Plus to be a good choice in our guide to the best microSD cards. Its sequential write speeds aren't the best, so it's not great for recording video or downloading a lot of media, but otherwise it's close enough to our top pick. This is the lowest price we've seen for the 128GB version.
-
Samsung Evo Select (2024) microSD Card (256GB) for $18 at amazon ($4 off): The Evo Select is our favorite microSD card in the budget range. Its mediocre write speeds make it less than ideal in a camera, but it should raise few complaints for most people simply looking to add space to a Nintendo Switch or Fire tablet on the cheap. We've seen the last-gen version of the card sell for less, but this is a new low for the “next-gen” 256GB model, which brings sequential reads in line with the top-tier Samsung Pro Plus. Also in B&H and Samsung.
-
Lexar Professional 1066x (1TB) microSD card for $70 at amazon ($19 off): It's not a formal pick in our guide, but the Lexar Professional 1066x is a perfectly serviceable card for most storage needs that's worth considering when it goes on sale. This is a new minimum for the 1TB variant.
-
Samsung Pro Plus microSD Card (1TB) for $90 at amazon ($30 off): If you want a 1TB card and don't mind paying for better performance, the Pro Plus is the top overall recommendation in our microSD card buying guide. It tested faster than the previous Lexar card in our benchmarks, with a particular advantage in random speeds. That means it should work a little better on a portable gaming PC or a device like the Raspberry Pi, where you'd need to access smaller chunks of data in random locations more frequently. This is a new low for the 1TB model, which Samsung launched earlier this year. Also at Samsung and B&H.
-
SanDisk Ultra microSD Card (1.5TB) for $89 at amazon ($21 off): The Ultra is slower than the cards we recommend in our buying guide, especially when it comes to write speeds, so you don't want to stress it too much with large file transfers. But if you don't really care about raw performance and want a lot of space for as little money as possible, it should be fine. This deal is a couple of dollars off the lowest price ever for the 1.5TB model. Also in SanDisk and B&H.
