Just look at him. I need he.
He Astrobot The limited edition controller includes blue grips, sci-fi details, and features Astro's signature pair of glowing blue eyes on the touchpad, which, according to the adorable trailer, appear to blink at you. (They better blink at you — what good are eyes if they don't blink at you?)
The Asobi team has added a ton of new interactions between the Dual Sense controllers and the Astrobot game, some of which I got to experience during my demo of the game at Summer Game Fest. The team has increased the number of textures you can feel through the controller, such as sand, glass, or metal. All of Astro’s new power-ups will have a distinctive feel thanks to haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. In the demo, there are little spark plugs that you frequently have to pull out of the ground. The sound effects coming out of the controller combined with the slowly increasing resistance on the triggers actually felt like you were pulling on unruly wires.
The controller will be available for pre-order on August 9 in select countries and will be sold at a price of USD 79.99. You can also try your luck by purchasing it in selected stores around the world on September 6, the same day as Astro Bot launch.
