April's new Xbox Game Pass arrivals bring you Lego races, Lara Croft, and a Lil Gator. Subscribers can play Mario Kart style Lego 2K Unit Starting Wednesday, the closing of the trilogy. The shadow of the Tomb Raider April 11 and the charming stop-motion adventure game Harold Halibut on April 16.
Lego 2K Unit, released in May 2023, sees developer Vision Concepts (known for the NBA 2K and WWE 2K series) take the reins of Travelers' Tales to create its first Lego game. We were quickly drawn to its charming vehicle transformations and quirky fun in a game that draws inspiration equally from Mario Kart and Forza Horizon 5.
Our complaints (no quick way to restart races and a suspicious nudge toward microtransactions) will be easier to overcome when you can download it for free with your Game Pass subscription. Lego 2K Unit will be available to Game Pass members on April 3 for cloud consoles and Xbox.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition concludes Lara Croft's Survivor Trilogy origin story, which rebooted the series as an Uncharted-style cinematic epic. Help Croft traverse jungles, caverns, and ruins (complete with tombs!) as she battles the mysterious and all-powerful Trinity organization and completes her transformation into the familiar and beloved character from previous iterations. You will be able to play it on April 11 on the cloud, Xbox consoles and PC.
Harold Halibut is a quirky adventure game created in the spirit of old-school Sierra or LucasArts games, with a unique visual touch. Harold works as a lab assistant on a sunken spaceship trapped underwater 250 years after fleeing a doomed Earth. But the game's stop-motion digital animation steals the show, appropriately illustrating the story's captivatingly bleak sci-fi premise.
Developer Slow Bros. created handcrafted characters, environments, and objects, which were scanned and digitally animated, resulting in a standout old-school motif. Harold Halibut It will be available on April 16 on the cloud, PC and Xbox Series x/S.
Also available to Game Pass members in April is the time-slowing action puzzler. Superhot: Mind Control Delete (available Tuesday for cloud, console and PC), the innocent open-world adventure for the whole family Lil Gator Game (April 4: Cloud/Console/PC), EA Sports PGA Tour (April 4: Cloud / PC / Xbox Series x/S) and surreal detective game kona (April 9: cloud/console).
Those leaving Xbox Game Pass this month are Amnesia Collection, Amnesia: rebirth, Back 4 Blood, ghost abyss, Investigate and destroy and soma. They are available until April 15.
