Apple's MacBook Air M3 with 16GB of RAM has dropped to its lowest price yet. The laptop is available for $899, which is $200 off the list price.
That's the base amount of storage, but other configurations with more storage are also on sale. One with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD is available for $989, although we recommend having at least 16GB of memory. It's not possible to upgrade RAM on an Apple Silicon MacBook, but you can always add external storage if necessary.
Apple just launched its first M4-powered Macs, but has yet to insert the latest chip into the MacBook Air. The 13-inch MBA's combination of power and portability makes it a powerful option, and we gave it a score of 90 in our review. It offers fast performance and has an excellent screen. The design is sleek and sturdy and it sounds great thanks to a four-speaker array. We also like the trackpad and keyboard, while the upgrade to Wi-Fi 6E connectivity is a definite plus.

Our main quibble is that the USB-C ports are on the same side of the unit as the charger; it would be useful to even have a USB-C on the right side. But that's a minor complaint about an otherwise excellent laptop.
If you're willing to go with a slightly older (but no less capable) processor, the MacBook Air M2 with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is down to $749, which is $250 off its usual price.
