The rollout will be quite slow and new features and support for more languages will be added in the coming months. The company has for several more languages, with Apple Intelligence coming in German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, and Vietnamese in 2025. That’s in addition to previously announced support for Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish.
Apple will initially offer Apple Intelligence in the US in English in October. So you won't have access to the tools right away if you want them when Apple's latest smartphone lineup launches on Friday.
The tools will be available in localized English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and the United Kingdom in December. Apple will also begin rolling out the features in English in India and Singapore next year. Support for other languages will be announced.
There is one key aspect worth highlighting as part of the Apple Intelligence rollout, however. Apple doesn't plan to make the tools widely available in mainland China right away. So while you'll be able to use Apple Intelligence in Portuguese or French, you may not necessarily be able to do so while you're in Portugal or France.
“Apple Intelligence will not currently work if you are in the EU and if your Apple ID country or region is also in the EU.” “If you are traveling outside the EU, Apple Intelligence will work when your device language and Siri language are set to a supported language.”
Additionally, Apple Intelligence will not work on phones purchased in mainland China for the time being. Travelers to China with an iPhone purchased elsewhere will also not have access to the tools if their Apple ID in the country or region is set to mainland China.
