AMC and Netflix have signed a deal to bring several of the cable network's series to the streaming platform later this summer. that the agreement includes seasons 1 to 8 of Fear the living deadseason 1 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixonseasons 1-4 of Preacherseasons 1-3 of A discovery of witchesseasons 1-3 of Towards the Badlandsseasons 1-2 of Kevin can fuck himselfseasons 1-2 of Dark windsseasons 1-2 of Gangs of Londonseason 1 of Interview with the Vampire by Anne Riceseason 1 of The Mayfair Witches by Anne Riceseason 1 of Mr. Shovelseason 1 of That dirty black bag and season 1 of The horrorAll of them will be added to Netflix on August 19 and will be available for one year. The first seasons of both The Walking Dead: Dead City and The Walking Dead: Those Who Survive will land on Netflix on January 13.
Viewers on a budget will also appreciate that these AMC shows will be available to watch ad-free, even for those on Netflix's standard ad-supported plan. The same goes for all eleven seasons of The Walking Dead which are already on the streaming service.
“These select titles are also being strategically selected to drive interest in current and future seasons across our direct-to-consumer and partner platforms,” AMC Networks CEO Kristin Dolan said of the deal. “We believe this significant expansion of our relationship with Netflix will drive viewership and engagement on Netflix, while increasing awareness and interest in our award-winning content across AMC-branded and partner platforms across our distribution ecosystem.”
The cable company followed a similar path to achieve Fear the living dead and other programming in front of the Max streaming audience in 2023. The company's own streaming service, AMC+, had subscribers from May 2024.
