Have you ever started a show, stopped mid-season, and then struggled to get back into it because you have no idea exactly where you left off or what was going on? amazon may have you covered. the company simply amazon-prime-video-x-ray-recaps” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank” data-ylk=”slk:launched a new tool for Prime Video;cpos:1;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas” class=”link “>launched a new tool for Prime Video that uses ai to generate personalized summaries.
x-Ray Recaps uses generative ai to create “short, easy-to-digest summaries” of entire TV seasons, individual episodes, or even parts of episodes. All of this is personalized, so the summary will go down to the “exact minute of where you are looking.” The company promises “short textual snippets of key suspenseful moments, character-driven plot points” and other details.
Adam Gray, vice president of product at Prime Video, says this tool will help customers “quickly return to what they were watching or rediscover why they fell in love with a series in the first place.” It is powered by amazon Bedrock, the company's proprietary AWS service for building and scaling ai applications. For those who worry about spoilers, the ai has been trained to avoid them at all costs.
This is an extension of the pre-existing x-Ray feature, offering trivia and broadcast information during the broadcast. I love this tool and am constantly surprised that other streamers haven't adopted something similar.
x-Ray Recaps launches today for Fire TV customers, albeit in beta form. Additional devices will be supported later in the year. At this time, it only works with content created by amazon MGM Studios, such as Increase, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Tim's wheelHey the boys.
