amazon has <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/amazon-nova-reel-1-1-featuring-up-to-2-minutes-multi-shot-videos/”>updated Your ai video model, Nova Reel, with the ability to generate videos of up to two minutes.
Nova Reel, announced in December 2024, was amazon's first raid in the generative video space. Compete with Openai, Google models and others in what is quickly becoming a market full of people.
The last Reel Nova, Nova Reel 1.1, can generate videos of “multiple shots” with “consistent style” in Las Tomas, explained AWS developer defender Elizabeth Fuentes in a blog post. Users can provide an application of up to 4,000 characters to generate up to a two -minute video composed of six second shots.
Nova Reel 1.1 also presents a new mode called “Multishot Manual”. In this way, the model can refer to an image along with a warning to offer more control over the composition of a video outlet. According to Fuentes, given a resolution image of 1280 × 720 and a notice of 512 maximum-caracters, the Multishot Manual can generate videos containing up to 20 shots.
Nova Reel is only available through AWS platforms and services, including Bedrock, amazon's a Development Suite, and customers must request special access. As with most generative ai systems, there are questions about whether Reel was developed using ethically solid methods.
Video generation models are trained in a lot of examples of videos to “learn” the patterns in these videos to generate new clips. Some companies train models in copyrights without obtaining permission from owners or creators, and, when these models “regurgitate” fixed images with copyright, exposes users of the models to demands for IP.
amazon has not revealed the source of Reel training data, nor has it provided an explicit way so that creators possibly feed the data sets of the models with their videos to choose not to participate. However, the company has said that it will protect AWS customers accused of violating copyright with the means generated by their models, according to their compensation policy.
