amazon says that the new and improved Alexa presented on Wednesday, Alexa+, is driven by a “model agnostic” system that always uses the “best” ai model for any specific task.
On the stage in a press event in New York, the vice president of amazon, Daniel Rausch, said that Alexa+ is based on Bedrock, the amazon cloud platform designed to allow organizations to experience with generative ai models, to feed its diverse characteristics.
Among the models Alexa+ is using are amazon Nova, the family of amazon internal generative models, as well as models of the member and collaborator of amazon Anthrope.
This “agnostic model” approach allows what could be considered “agents” capacities. Alexa+ takes advantage of a new system called “experts” for particular tasks. Experts orchestrate amazon services and devices, as well as third -party services and devices.
Rausch said the first day that Alexa+ will work with “tens of thousands” of devices and services.
Some of these services include news services. amazon says it has been associated with publications that include Time, Reuters and Associated Press to provide information for answers related to news, financial markets and more.
That only scratches the surface of what Alexa+ can do. According to Rausch, Alexa+ can navigate websites to complete the tasks on behalf of a user. For example, you can find a professional to repair a broken oven registering the web and even communicate with the repair workshop autonomously.
