It's time to dust off your VCR and clean the heads, because Alien: Romulus will arrive on VHS as a limited edition on December 3 along with the other physical releases, director Fede Álvarez announced during “a special Beyond the festival-Associated screening” in Los Angeles yesterday.
The “fully functioning VHS tape” is intended to celebrate 45 years since the Foreign The first franchise (box set) burst into theaters, 20th Century Studios wrote in a statement emailed to The edge. It will present the movie, appropriately, in a 4:3 aspect ratio (hopefully without pan-and-scan). It also comes in an elegant vintage style case.
The box art comes from Matt Furgeson, whose other work you can check out. on your website. A few weeks ago he posted a larger version of the same image as a poster, which I now desperately want on my wall. I've included it below for your viewing pleasure.
20th Century Studios has not said how many copies of the film will be available nor has it provided a price for the collectible. However, if you don't want to wait for the VHS or other physical releases to arrive, you can now purchase a digital license for Alien: Romulus at a transmission store near you.
