I started my career in 2021 as a data science intern at Spotify.
Then I did another internship and then a master's thesis as a machine learning researcher.
So I'm also kind of an intern specialist. My colleagues even used to joke about the fact that I was going to be a senior intern. So, if you are a student and dream of joining Spotify, this article is for you.
The year I was accepted, there were around tens of thousands of applicants. Needless to say, it's pretty. competitive.
And it's easy to see why.
For many of us, myself included, Spotify is our dream company. Nothing resonates with people more than music. Many students dream of joining band and for good reason.
Getting an internship is usually the best way to get a full-time offer when you're a graduate, even in technology.
Two years ago I was one of the lucky ones who was offered to stay and since then I haven't stopped receiving messages from students asking me how I did it. It is the number one question that comes up the most.
So today I will finally share with you the story of how I landed one of the most competitive and coolest internships in data science. I will take care of:
- The application process
- The CV preparation step
- The recruitment process with interviews.
Not only will I share my story and the challenges I encountered along the way, but I will also provide you with advice so you can embark on a similar path. From student to student. I'm not anymore, but I pretend I am while reading this story.
There is also a video where you can make fun of me and my editing skills.
