As the Chief technology Officer (CTO) of a fast-growing ai company, Pixis, my team and I are constantly striving to answer a key requirement: How do we continue to democratize ai for the industry we serve: the marketing sector growing?
At Pixis, we’ve always had conversations about what it truly means to “democratize technology” for our users every step of the way. These conversations have led to products that require no technical expertise; It is a complete product for marketers. When we started back in 2019, we noticed how the term “democratize ai” was used constantly, but the technology itself still required experts and engineers to use it. From integrating ai into the marketing stack to utilizing the technology to its full potential, a whole mix of technical experts was required. Thus began our journey to truly catalyze an industry-wide paradigm shift that would allow marketers to directly harness the potential of ai for themselves.
One of the biggest challenges of integrating ai into business is the implementation process itself, which we noticed took 2-3 weeks. With nearly 70% of companies reporting a lack of understanding about implementing ai, we recognized the need to make the process simple and intuitive. We solved this challenge by delivering our ai infrastructure through a method as simple as downloading and installing a plugin, reducing integration times from weeks to minutes. I truly believe that the goal of every marketing ai company should be to ensure that the products can be directly used by growth marketers themselves. Whether harnessing the powers of natural language processing (NLP) models or more complex algorithms to predict the best strategies for end-to-end performance and bid budget optimization, our customers should be able to easily work with the product regardless of his familiarity with him. Data science.
ai technology should be designed in a way that is easy to use, even for those without experience in data analysis or programming. This could mean developing a simple drag-and-drop user interface (UI) so anyone can enter data and interpret the results. No-code ai infrastructure combines artificial intelligence with intuitive, easy-to-use interfaces that allow marketers to harness the power of ai without the need for coding skills.
A no-code ai infrastructure also addresses other barriers to the democratization of ai.
- Transparent processes: No-code ai marketing tools can be programmed to clearly explain how they work, what data they use, and how they arrive at their results, just like Pixis ai does. This lack of transparency can often scare away potential users who are unsure how ai will impact their marketing activity or how it arrived at a particular recommendation. More than 60% of companies consider “trust in ai” a key obstacle, and no-code ai marketing tools prioritize transparency by implementing explainable ai (XAI) algorithms that describe the decision-making process. of decisions, fostering confidence in the technological process and results, addressing this problem. Lingering concern about ai “black boxes.”
- Data Privacy Compliance: It is crucial to implement encryption, anonymization, and strong access control layers in the data pipeline. The lack of encryption required by no-code ai technology marketers does not mean less data privacy compliance. Algorithms can be created without code to take into account that international data standards, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), are imperative and commit to protecting and respecting any sensitive data entrusted to your ai platform.
- Affordable ai solutions: Advanced ai technology that requires specialized expertise and expertise can be expensive, making it inaccessible to many companies. Purpose-built no-code ai solutions can significantly reduce costs and deliver a higher return on investment simply by being developed to effortlessly solve the specific challenges a customer is looking to overcome. Additionally, there is no cost to upskill your workforce to work with ai or hire an ai technology specialist. This powerful and cost-effective ai solution opens up the market for ai by making it accessible to both startups and established corporations.
However, I recognize that it could be argued that a marketer may want to do much more with an ai solution than it allows. This is where I think the really exciting part comes in. Today, as part of our ai infrastructure, we are also opening access to ai playgrounds where marketers can invite data scientists and other technical experts on their team to collaborate and customize models for their specific purposes. . This allows for regular prioritization along with product experimentation. This is really where the power of democratization lies, where technology providers allow users to shape the product and securely leverage or customize it beyond their initial offerings.
We view the democratization of ai in marketing not as a challenge to overcome, but as an exciting journey we are on. Our vision is that ai should not be considered an “exclusive privilege,” but rather an accessible tool that adds tremendous value to businesses of all sizes, delivering unparalleled results in the hands of all marketers.
