New users can start creating right away. Lessons learned from implementation and improvements to our security systems make wider availability possible.
Starting today, we will remove the waitlist for the DALL E beta so that users can sign up and start using it right away. Over 1.5 million users now actively create over 2 million images a day with DALL E, from artists and creative directors to authors and architects, with over 100,000 users sharing their creations and feedback in our community of Discord.
Responsibly scaling a system as powerful and complex as DALL E, while learning about all the creative ways it can be used and misused, has required an iterative implementation approach.
Since we first showed DALL·E research to users in April, users have helped us discover new uses for DALL·E as a powerful creative tool. Artists, in particular, have provided important information about the functions of DALL·E.
Your feedback inspired us to create features like Outpainting, which allows users to continue an image beyond its original borders and create larger images of any size and collections, so users can create in all new ways and speed up their creative processes.
Learning from real-world usage has allowed us to improve our security systems, making wider availability possible today. In recent months, we’ve strengthened our filters to reject attempts to generate sexual, violent, and other content that violates our content policy, and created new detection and response techniques to stop misuse.
We are currently testing a DALL·E API with various clients and are excited to make it available more widely to developers and enterprises soon so they can build applications on this powerful system.
We can’t wait to see what users around the world create with DALL·E. Sign up today and start creating.
