If you keep up with technology and ai, you will know that when it comes to generating images, Halfway through the trip has been everyone’s pay-per-play option. Now it looks like they have some competition. Generative ai is running its race, with Open ai releasing FROM AND 3 an imager on September 20, 2023.
Have you ever written an amazing blog and wanted an image that resonated with that? Have you ever had a really cool idea and wanted it in an image? Have you ever been too tired to create your own image and wanted it instantly? And you also wanted it to be exactly what you imagined. Well, you can do all that with DALL·E 3.
Let’s start from the beginning. DALL·E is a text-to-image conversion model developed by OpenAI using deep learning methods. We have seen that DALL·E 2 can generate digital images using natural language processing and now we have DALL·E 3.
DALL·E 3 is back bigger and better, being able to understand the nooks and crannies, more nuances and details than ever before. Thanks to “prompts”, you can now easily translate your ideas into accurate digital images.
So what is the difference between the two? How is DALL·E 3 better?
Understand the context much better
The main difference between DALL·E 2 and DALL·E 3 is the model’s understanding of context. Unfortunately, DALL·E 2 had difficulty fully understanding the context, even when specifically prompted, it ignored specific words. DALL·E 3 understands context much better, providing users with the image they want.
From the hand of ChatGPT
DALL·E 3 has been created specifically in ChatGPT. This allows you to use DALL·E 3 and ChatGPT hand in hand to generate ideas and better refine your directions. When DALL·E 3 is prompted for an idea, ChatGPT will generate unique, personalized and detailed prompts for DALL·E 3 to bring it to life.
If DALL·E 3 generates an image you don’t like, you can ask ChatGPT to make further adjustments to get the image you want.
The images are yours!
The images created by DALL·E 2 did not belong to the user who created them. With DALL·E 3, the images you create are all yours! This means that you do not need permission from OpenAI to reprint, sell or trade them. Definitely an interesting development.
Imitating living artists
We won’t go into the issues surrounding why imitating living artists is a problem: we know that you can become ugly very quickly. Lawsuits, copyright infringement, you understand what I’m trying to say here.
An OpenAI representative said that DALL·E 3 has been specifically trained not to generate images that imitate the style of living artists. While DALL·E 2 can currently be asked to imitate the art style of certain artists. To ensure artists are happy, OpenAI also provided a form in which creators can choose not to use their images to train future models.
Fake image generation
From what we’ve learned about DALL·E 3, it looks like an open playground. However, OpenAI is still very strict about security in the use of all its generative ai tools. OpenAI has stated that like DALL·E 2, DALL·E 3 has an image and keyword detection filter implemented that limits users’ ability to generate harmful, violent and sexual content. We have already seen this happen with Midjourney when it generated ai-generated-images-of-donald-trump-getting-arrested-foreshadow-a-flood-of-memes-fake-news/?sh=5670b90e6a18″ rel=”noopener” target=”_blank”>Fake images of Donald Trump being arrested.
Take a look at the image below of the difference between DALL·E 2 and DALL·E 3 in their output when generating an image using the prompt ‘An expressive oil painting of a basketball player doing a dunk, depicted as the explosion of a nebula’.
DALL·E 3 was recently implemented in ChatGPT Pro and will soon be available for OpenAI APIs and laboratories also.
To use ChatGPT Pro’s DALL·E 3, with the convenience of interacting with the service through the familiar chat interface, simply go to the ChatGPT website and from the ChatGPT-4 menu option select “DALL·E 3 ( Beta)”.

At this point, all you have to do is interact with ChatGPT the same way you would otherwise.
Create an image of a mountainous winter setting, with a cabin and some goats.
And this is what DALL·E 3 generates and generates directly within the ChatGPT interface:

It is easy. ChatGPT takes care of designing useful prompts for DALL·E to use, making the system much more accessible than some of the other options out there that require quick and smart engineering to get the best results.
And that’s DALL·E 3 as it stands right now. What does this mean for other ai image generator competitors, such as Halfway through the trip and ai/” rel=”noopener” target=”_blank”>StabilityAI?
