It turns out that Warner Bros. Discovery won’t actually pull looney tunes of max.
On Monday, in an email at 4:02 p.m. ET with the subject line “What’s new for Max this December,” Warner Bros. Discovery listed looney tunes and The Looney Tunes Show among the titles that Max will leave on December 31. Although looney tunes is a Warner Bros. exclusive franchise, removing episodes from the cartoon would be unprecedented; Warner Bros. Discovery pulled seasons 16 through 31 of the show from HBO Max late last year. The company also recently shelved the nearly completed project. But a few hours later, the company announced that looney tunesMax’s inclusion on the elimination list was apparently a mistake. In a revised version of the email sent Monday at 9:43 p.m. ET, Warner Bros. Discovery said that “’Looney Tunes’ was mistakenly included as a title leaving the platform. “This is not the case and the show will continue to air on Max.”
Warner Bros. Discovery already has a reputation for cutting streaming content, including nearly finished movies.
