Sukeban Games is working on what it describes as a “cyberpunk active action” game with a battle system similar to Parasite EveIn a blog post, Chris from Sukeban has officially announced Announced .45 PARABELLUM HOUNDwhich stars a mercenary named Reila Mikazuchi. Enemies can attack you from anywhere as you explore the game’s environments, and you’ll have to dodge and wait for an action bar to fill before you can launch a counterattack. The action bar fills at a rate based on your character and weapon stats, so the stronger you become, the faster you’ll be able to counterattack.
While the announcement doesn't offer a detailed explanation of the game's plot, Chris describes its story as follows: “You play as Reila Mikazuchi, a failed mercenary whose glory days are long gone. In a last-ditch attempt to take life by the horns, she decides to return to life, only to realize that the true enemy isn't in front of her gun.”
The indie developer plans to make seven chapters for the game, and five are already ready and playable. However, it has not yet announced a release date so as not to repeat its “N1RV ANNA-A situation.” Sukeban is the developer behind the cyberpunk “booze-em-up” bar game VA-11 ROOM-Awhich takes place in a post-dystopian world with a society controlled by corporations.
VA-11 ROOM-A It was a huge success for an indie title and Sukeban announced a sequel called N1RV ANN-A: Cyberpunk Waiter Action in 2018, after having sold 200,000 copies. The developer has not released N1RV ANNA-A However, despite announcing a 2020 release date, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing one anytime soon. Chris said that .45 PARABELLUM BLOODHOUND is “significantly ahead in development” and that the developer is devoting its “full attention to it for the foreseeable future.”
Sukeban has also released the first trailer for .45 PARABELLUM HOUNDand you can see it below.
