Yemen's Houthi rebels likely launched the drone that damaged a ship in the Red Sea on Sunday, the Associated Press reported, citing maritime officials.
The attack occurred around dawn off the coast of the rebel-held port city of Hodeida, according to to the British Army's UK Maritime Trade Operations centre. The ship was damaged but her crew was reported safe, she said.
The damaged ship is a Liberian-flagged container ship bound for Qingdao, China, according to private security firm Ambrey.
The Houthis did not immediately say they were responsible, but it may take hours or days before they acknowledge their attacks, the Associated Press reported.
Container ship and oil tanker companies are the biggest beneficiaries of the higher rate market, he said.
