Walmart, Target and amazon sometimes look like heavyweight boxers throwing big punches at each other. Money, of course, solves many problems, and the battle to deliver more goods faster has cost billions of dollars.
All three retailers have made two-day delivery the bare minimum and offer same-day delivery for many items. Additionally, Walmart and Target have been implementing curbside pickup services. It's a battle that has been very good for consumers: they continue to get faster service without having to pay more.

The challenge for Walmart, Target and amazon is to offer any type of differentiated service. amazon (AMZN) has the widest selection (that's an advantage you're unlikely to lose), but Walmart (WMT) and objective (TGT) They have a wide enough selection that it's hard to see it as a major plus.
Walmart, however, has launched an improved service that provides greater convenience to consumers.
Walmart expands home delivery
Same-day grocery delivery is convenient, but if you're not home when your groceries are delivered, it can lead to disasters. No one wants their perishable items sitting out for long, and unattended shopping bags sitting there are attractive to thieves.
That's why Walmart has a service that will literally bring your order to your home and place perishable items in the refrigerator or freezer.
“The company's InHome service is designed to save customers time by delivering essential items, general merchandise and fresh food directly to their homes. Walmart is the only retailer to offer delivery directly to customers' kitchens or homes “, shared the company. on their website.
InHome is an add-on to a Walmart+ membership. The company recently expanded the service's availability, offering it to 45 million homes in 50 markets nationwide.
“These markets include major metropolitan areas such as Boston, Detroit and Philadelphia,” the company added.
amazon has a program that will bring groceries to your garage, but not to your home.

Walmart improves InHome service
Walmart has been working to improve InHome by helping customers place orders before they even know what they need. This prevents them from running out of essential household items.
“In January, Walmart revealed that it was improving InHome service with replenishment. Replenishment, powered by ai, uses a personalized algorithm to predict customer needs and automatically places items in the cart with their InHome order to be delivered directly to customers' pantries and refrigerators,” the company shared.
amazon has tried several ways to achieve the same thing, including failed attempts such as the buttons it sold that could reorder items with a single press. Walmart is using a more technological approach.
“The algorithm learns the items that customers regularly purchase, including frequency and quantity,” Walmart added.
The first comments have been positive.
“In April, replenishment began its initial trial and customer feedback has been positive. Customers noted that the service gives them greater flexibility, time savings and a level of accuracy in items added to cart. One customer said that replenishment has given them the security that they will not forget the necessary items on their weekly shopping list,” the company published.
