(Reuters) – Verizon (NYSE said on Tuesday it has added Comcast's Peacock (NASDAQ to its streaming subscription hub and plans to offer YouTube Premium at a discounted rate with myPlan subscriptions.
The telecommunications firm said it will offer YouTube Premium for $10 per month, offering 30% savings to myPlan customers, starting Thursday.
The Peacock streaming service, under NBCUniversal, will be available starting June 5 through Verizon's +play, an entertainment hub that offers consolidated streaming and lifestyle subscriptions to customers.
Comcast recently announced price increases for Peacock ahead of the Paris Olympics this summer.
Peacock premium, an ad-supported offering, will cost $7.99 per month, while its ad-free offering, premium plus, will be priced at $13.99 per month, the company said last month.
The New York-based company has benefited from its customizable myPlan options and streaming packages that offer discounted pricing for services like Netflix (NASDAQ and Warner Bros. Discovery's Max (NASDAQ ), which has attracted customers.
The company introduced a promotional package of six months of free access to Disney services for new and existing customers on some plans.
Verizon also announced Tuesday the Ultimate Phone Upgrade program, offering Unlimited Ultimate wireless plan customers their best phone and device deals when they trade in an older one.
