If you’ve ever considered a leather iPhone case or premium mobile accessory, there’s a good chance you’ve come across something from Nomad Goods.
Now, they are launching a new wireless charger designed for iPhones with MagSafe. He support one it’s certainly a premium option at $109.95. For that price, you get a “Made for MagSafe” badge and a super-plush build made of metal and glass.
Finally, it’s also a charger from Nomad that doesn’t lie flat, but props up your iPhone. Also, I’ve been testing one for a few days now and there’s a lot to like if you’re willing to pay for it.

Nomad Stand One ($109.95 at Nomad Goods)
The Stand One is a robust unit and is likely to have a permanent home on your desk or nightstand. It weighs 613 grams and that’s mostly felt at the bottom to ensure it doesn’t tip over. There is also a rubber coating on the bottom which ensures that it does not slip or move.
On the back is a permanently attached cable that ends with a USB-C port. It’s pretty long at two metres, but the trick 22 with the Stand One is that you need to supply your own wall socket. For $109.95, we really wish the Nomad included one in the box, especially since you’ll need a 20-watt brick to ensure fast charging.
It’s not the end of the world though, if you consider that you could have one in your home, but be aware that there may be an additional cost. you could get a 20-watt charger from Nomad for $18.95 or opt for a more affordable one from Anker for only $12.79.
The overall build here screams premium and luxury, representing the price point well. The metal construction reacts well to temperature and makes the Stand One look very stylish. It’s a sloping L design that will leave your iPhone at a vertical angle of 21 degrees.
I’ve tested the Stand One with iPhones of all sizes, including the larger 14 Pro Max and 14 Plus, which fit and held up well without any issues. Similarly, the iPhone 12, iPhone 13 Mini, as well as the 14 and 14 Pro attached without problems. I especially like how it ends up giving the appearance that your iPhone is levitating a bit.

With your phone connected, iPhone can easily authenticate with Face ID to let you see notifications, take a FaceTime call, scroll through TikTok, or even flip your iPhone horizontally to watch a video. The iPhone loaded with MagSafe without issue and Nomad is using an official Apple drive here. With the latest iPhones (14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max), you can get charging speeds of up to 15 watts wirelessly, which is better than what you’ll see with a standard Qi-enabled charger.
In comparison withNomad base onehe support one it’s a bit more functional because it holds your iPhone, which makes it a bit easier to use. It makes Stand One much more functional when on a desktop.
While almost $110 is a lot for a wireless charger, the other bonus is that MagSafe won’t go away, making this a longer investment. It launched with the iPhone 12, and Apple continues to build on its benefits, including bringing it into the iPhone 14 family. Unlike a case that’s generally good for just one phone model, this wireless charger should support future iPhones with no issues.
If you’re looking for a premium MagSafe charger that doesn’t sacrifice design or original parts, the Stand One is well worth the money. Just be prepared to bring your own wall plug.
