The World Series may be the big prize for Major League Baseball players, but winning also comes with an added monetary incentive that’s worth more than just a look.
There is a pool of money that players will receive that is drawn from playoff-specific receipts. This amount consists of 60% of the revenue from the first two games of the Wild Card round, three games of the Divisional Round, four games of the League Championship and the first four games of the World Series.
The Texas Rangers are set to take that big prize, and while it’s still unclear how much that sum will be, previous results show it will likely be around $500,000 per player.

Last year, that sum rose to $107.5 million and each of the 2022 World Series champions, the Houston Astros, received a record $516,337 in addition to their championship rings.
This figure was lower in recent years, but is still within the six-figure range. The 2017 Astros each received $438,901, which was the record before their 2022 version broke it.
The 2021 Braves received almost $400,000 per person, although this was divided among more people than the 2022 Astros.

And the World Series champions aren’t the only ones who got a big payday. In 2022, all four teams that reached the League Championship Series received at least six-figure sums.
While the Astros received more than half a million dollars, the Philadelphia Phillies, who finished in second place, got almost $300,000 per player.
