Tesla has had its fair share of recall-related issues of late. In February, the company issued a safety recall of 362,758 of certain Model S, Model X, Model 3, and Model Y vehicles for an over-the-air software update of its full self-driving feature. This is considered a recall by NHTSA, but Tesla CEO Elon Musk views the use of the word “recall” as a case of semantics who believes that using the word “recall” for an over-the-air software update is ” anachronistic and just plain wrong.” according to one of Musk’s tweets.
The company also recalled thousands of its Model Y vehicles in late February over concerns about loose seat bolts, federal safety regulators said. That recall only affected 3,470 vehicles from the 2022-2023 model year, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Last week, the company recalled 2,649 Tesla Model S vehicles in China that were manufactured at the company’s plant in Fremont, California. InsideEvs reported.
