Break (New York Stock Exchange: SNAP) said on Tuesday that its paid subscription service Snapchat+ now had more than 7 million subscribers and that it was rolling out new artificial intelligence (ai)-based features to users.
The company had targeted 10 million subscribers for the service when had launched Snapchat+ in July last year. We are now more than halfway to that mark in less than 18 months. Break (BREAK) in September had said that the service had overcome 5 million users.
Snapchat+ costs $3.99 per month.
“There are already many ways for Snapchat+ members to express themselves with ai, whether it's creating an original generative ai Bitmoji background or chat wallpaper, transforming themselves in imaginative ways with Dreams, or learning about the world through conversations with My ai.” Snap (SNAP) said in a statement.
“We now offer subscribers even more ways to create, edit and capture images that inspire continued connection through visual conversation,” the company added.
New features include using ai via voice commands to create and send a Snap. It also allows the user to enlarge the frame of an image if the original was zoomed in too close. Subscribers can now also create ai selfies together.
Snap (SNAP) said the new features were rolling out now and regional availability may vary.
