While the Royal Caribbean agitates the emotion for his second icon class boat, Star of the Seas, which is thrown this summer, some cruises “loyal to real” come advances of the entertainment of the new ship as a reminder of what is missing in some of the other people of the cruise line.
Heading the entertainment that will be released in Star of the Seas when it appears in the candles of Port Canaveral, Florida, on August 31 is a Broadway musical adaptation of an iconic film suitable for an iconic family vacation: “Back to the future: The musical.”

Although the adventure that travels in time sounds exciting for passengers who plan to navigate on the new ship, some passengers who sail in other megamental ones are disappointed that their real cruises of the Caribbean do not include a Broadway show at all.
When Royal Caribbean launched his fifth and sixth Oasis class ships in 2022 and 2024, he decided not to continue his oasis class tradition of debuting a Broadway show in these newer ships. On the other hand, the wonder of the seas and the utopia of the seas have theatrical productions of real origin of the Royal Caribbean in the Royal Theater.
With Icon of the Seas, the cruise lines chose to produce its own Broadway style interpretation of “The Wizard of Oz”, but surprised fans when returning to a Broadway license production for the star of the siblings.

Royal Caribbean cruises want more Broadway shows
Some passengers expected the return of the cruise line to Broadway for Star of the Seas would mean that Royal Caribbean would add Broadway shows to Wonder and Utopia, but so far that has not been the case.
In the Royal Caribbean community in Reddit, a cruise recently expressed its frustration by the entertainment direction of the cruise line.
“In 2025 Wonder of the Seas still does not have a Broadway show,” Brokent0jan wrote. “Star of the Seas has returned to the future, the icon has Oz's wizard, Symphony has hair lacquer, etc. It is really disappointing that somehow this ship does not yet have a show.”

In Reddit thread comments, other passengers pointed out the lack of Broadway shows in Utopia of the Seas and Odyssey of the Seas, a quantum class boat too. A passenger even shared that they decided not to navigate in Wonder and Utopia of the Seas specifically because they do not present Broadway shows.
“I have skipped Wonder and Utopia for this reason. I have done all the other oasis class boats and I will make icon and star,” Litigatedlaureate wrote. “I have assumed that they wanted to maintain new Broadway style shows for their new class of ships. That's why Wonder and Utopia did not get them. Because they knew that Icon, Star, etc. was going to come.”
The cruises wonder if the third icon class ship will get Broadway Show
The Loyales Cruises Royal Caribbean are curious to see which entertainment address will take the cruise line with their third icon class ship, Legend of the Seas, which will be launched in summer 2026.
“Icon obtained his own version of Wizard of Oz, Star returned to the future, but that was a surprise for some, since they were supposed to be made with licensed agreements,” he wrote the conditioning in the Reddit thread. “It will be interesting to see what Legend will go, since it can soon be the time to start hiring staff for the show.”

In addition to adding Broadway shows to their megashyms that lack them, some cruises also think it may be time for Royal Caribbean to replace the cats, Broadway's musical appeared in Oasis of the Seas, the first ship in the Oasis class.
“I understand that some people in this Subnet could shudder when thinking about Broadway shows due to cats, but I promise that they are really good (less cats),” Brokent0jan explained.
“I go to Oasis this summer. I could not believe that they are still doing cats. It almost made me want to reserve a different ship, if it were not for the treatment we obtained,” Praxtra_ said.
“I really believe that the cruise line underestimates the value that people believe that good shows provide in the cruise lines,”
