Americans have never really agreed how old makes it a legal adult.
In most areas, you are an adult when you are 18 years old. At that age, it is considered that it is of the age required to consent to sexual relations, and almost all states allow you to marry once they turn 18 (although some require a few require permission from parents).
8 8 8 -year -old children can vote, rent a hotel and bet on many (but not all) casinos throughout the country. All 18 -year -olds can get a driver's license, but they cannot rent most cars, and there is no state in which alcohol can legally drink.
Basically, the United States has left some questions about when someone becomes an adult in the United States. That has created the confusing situation in which a 18 -year -old can die at the service of his country, but cannot have a drink to provide a fallen compatriot.
Most states allow 18 -year -olds to rent hotel rooms, but generally they will not be able to rent a car until they are 25 years old. That is car insurance, and there are some companies that make exceptions, but in general, an 18- The one-year-old boy has no luck in this area.
Cruise lines also have some inconsistent rules when it comes to age. The 18 -year -olds can play in their casinos, but they cannot drink in cruises that leave the US Law of the United States when they navigate from US ports.
However, both Royal Caribbean and Carnival have a surprising prohibition that affects passengers under 18.

Carnival prohibition has just entered into force
Carnival Cruise Line recently banned passengers under 21 years of age traveling on their own.
“The guests are required to be 21 years old (the day of shipping) to travel on their own. The ages of the guests will be verified in the boarding. Additional guidelines of minor age restriction while on board”, the line of the line of Cruises shared on its website.
That is a change in its previous policy, where passengers over 18 could reserve in their own cabin.
However, people under 21 do not need to travel with their parents.
“20 -year -old guests and younger should travel with a 25 -year -old relative or guardian (Guardian does not need to be a legal tutor),” he shared the cruise line.
This policy seems to be destined to ensure not to obtain groups of university age who travel without someone of at least 25 years in their group. It is a prohibition designed to ensure that there is at least one “adult” in the cabin, despite the fact that this word has a limited legal significance.
Royal Caribbean has a similar prohibition
While Carnival rules have just changed on February 1, Royal Caribbean has had similar long -term rules. The cruise line, however, allows 18 -year -olds to sail without accompaniment in some cases.
“The minimum age of Royal Caribbean to navigate not accompanied in navigations in North America is twenty -one (21),” he shared on his website.
The rules, however, are different in other markets in the world.
“The minimum age of Royal Caribbean to navigate not accompanied in navigations originally in South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand is eighteen years old (18),” he published.
The cruise line also said that it could be situations in which the rules are different.
“The company retains the right, rarely, to raise the minimum age to navigate without accompanying any navigation when local laws require or allow such modification,” he declares on his website.
Royal Caribbean made it clear that no guest under 21 will be assigned to a cabin unless he is accompanied in the same cabin by an adult of 21 years or more. The age of a guest is established on the first navigation date.
“This age limit will renounce children who sail with their parents or guardians in the cabin connection; for minor married couples; and for the members of the United States active or the Canadian army,” he shared. “Certain other restrictions and conditions will apply; such as the fulfillment of the alcohol policy of the twenty -one years (21) and the marriage test for minor couples or the test of the military state of active duty required.”
