Progress software (NASDAQ:PRGS) said on Friday that it had received a subpoena from the US District of Columbia requesting documents and information related to a cybersecurity incident involving the company's file transfer software.
The Progress stock (PRGS) was below 2.2% at $57.12 after hours.
Last year, the company revealed that in May, its research team had found a zero-day vulnerability in the MOVEit file transfer software, which led to many customers' personal information and records being compromised.
“On January 18, 2024, Progress (PRGS) received a subpoena from the District of Columbia Attorney General's Office seeking various documents and information related to the MOVEit vulnerability,” the company said in a regulatory filing on Friday.
The subpoena joins a list of several investigations into MOVEit's vulnerability by domestic and foreign data privacy regulators, as well as U.S. federal agencies. Progress (PRGS) received a subpoena from the Securities and Exchange Commission on October 2 of last year, and a preservation notice from the Federal Trade Commission on December 21.
Progress (PRGS) also said it had received formal letters from 31 customers and others claiming to have been affected by the MOVEit vulnerability, some of which indicated they intended to seek compensation from the company.
Progress (PRGS) last week achieved a better bottom line and top line in Q4 2023. For full year 2023, the company reported revenue of $694.4 million (+15% YoY). PRGS in Friday's filing said MOVEit Transfer and MOVEit Cloud accounted for less than 4% of its full-year 2023 revenue.
