OpenAI has allowed CEO Sam Altman to rejoin the nonprofit's board of directors, according to a report for the information.
The decision comes nearly five months after Altman was removed from the board and temporarily fired as CEO. He returned to the CEO position two weeks later, but not to his position on the board of directors.
OpenAI also confirmed today that law firm WilmerHale had completed its review of the events that led to Altman's ouster from the company.
“WilmerHale found that the previous Board acted within its broad discretion to fire Mr. Altman, but also found that his conduct did not warrant removal,” OpenAI saying.
