On Monday, technology actions experienced a substantial fall, with Nvidia leading the fall. The actions of the company fell more than 13% in operations prior to marketing, a reaction attributed to the unexpected appearance of the Chinese artificial intelligence startup Deepseek. Nasdaq 100 futures fell 3.3%, reflecting a broader apprehension in the technological industry. Other important technology companies also faced falls:
- ASML Holding: The Dutch manufacturer of semiconductor equipment saw its shares fall more than 10% in Amsterdam operations.
- SoftBank Group: In Asia, the Japanese conglomerate, known for its investments in technology, experienced an 8%drop.
- Tokyo electron: The Japanese semiconductor company reported a 4.9%drop.
Deepseek's R1 model, presented in a recent article, demonstrates capabilities comparable to those of the established leaders such as OpenAi, but was developed at a cost fraction. This development has generated concerns about the sustainability of American domain in the ai industry. Since its launch, the Depseek application has become the most unloaded free application in Apple's App Store.
Russ Mould, Investment Director of AJ Bell, commented on the situation: “The ai supercarrera is seeing new challenges and not everyone will win. Companies that enjoyed the advantage of being pioneers will now be under pressure to launch something even better or be left behind. ”
Investors are now following the technological sector, evaluating how the companies established to new competitors and the possible implications for future market participation and market participation will respond.
