You don't have to spend nine months at sea to offer cruisers a unique experience. Many cruise lines offer high-end, customized voyages that combine stunning destinations with specialized onboard experiences.
Sometimes, it may be a matter of where you are. There are some places, such as the Galapagos Islands, that limit the number of passengers a boat can carry.
That makes visiting it something very special because very few people get to do it each year. Cruise ships make stops all over the world and some stop in places that are very special because they are rarely visited by tourists.
In other cases, cruise lines may create a special itinerary for fans of a certain genre. It could be a food and wine tour along the European coast or a trip to New Zealand that takes you to locations from the various “Lord of the Rings” films.
It's really about which destinations can be visited on a cruise and what the cruise line's logistics staff can arrange. Norwegian's Regent Seven Seas brand, which calls itself an “ultra-luxury” cruise line, has a special trip planned for golf fans.

Regent Seven Seas brings a GOAT on board
Golf may not be the first sport that comes to mind when you think of a cruise. The days of hitting balls into the ocean from an open deck are long gone, and while there are golf courses at many destinations, the logistics of bringing clubs can be a challenge.
However, Regent Seven Seas has planned a “Spotlight” Journey” around the British and Irish Isles in the summer of 2025 aimed at golf enthusiasts.
The voyage will be hosted by Annika Sörenstam, “widely regarded as the greatest female golfer of all time,” according to the cruise line. It will take place on the new The greatness of the seven seassailing on June 23, 2025, roundtrip from Southampton, England.
During her 15-year Hall of Fame career, Sörenstam has amassed more than 95 wins worldwide, including 11 major championships, and is the only woman to break 60 in a competitive event. She most notably received global attention after her historic appearance on the PGA Tour, starting the 2003 Colonial Invitational and becoming the first woman in more than half a century to play in a PGA Tour event.
