Next tracker (NASDAQ:NXT) and industrial manufacturing services company Unimacts jointly announced plans Tuesday to build a new solar tracker factory in Nevada; Financial details were not disclosed.
The new 160,000-square-foot facility in Sloan, near Las Vegas, the second Nextracker (NXT) dedicated manufacturing line that Unimacts opened last year, produces steel torsion tubes used to support and rotate solar panels in solar power plants.
The two factories will support more than 2 GW of new solar energy per year, equivalent to the energy used by 400,000 US homes.
The new factory brings Nextracker's (NXT) annual home solar tracker capacity to more than 30 GW; The company said it has opened or expanded more than 20 U.S. manufacturing plants since 2021, including new or expanded dedicated production lines.
