There are three types of artists in Las Vegas. Most of the top resident artists are big names who are at their artistic peak (or at least close to it).
Adele, Bruno Mars, Carrie Underwood and Lady Gaga fall into this category. Previous shows by Katy Perry, U2, Miranda Lambert and Maroon 5 also fit into this category.

These are current artists who are still creating new music and could tour nationally, but have opted for an extended residency on the Las Vegas Strip. Many of these shows have intermittent schedules so the artist can tour, record new music, or appear on various music-related reality shows.
The second type of artist, the modern nostalgia artist, has a more nostalgic than contemporary appeal. Groups like Boys II Men, The Killers and artists like Carlos Santana, Christina Aguilera, Toni Braxton and Shania Twain fit into this category.
It's true that the lines are not entirely clear. Some of the nostalgic artists are still releasing new music and could be considered current artists. Still, most of the tickets sold are based on nostalgia, not current exposure.
The third type of artist who performs in Las Vegas is something that only happens in Las Vegas. There are a handful of legends who remember the old days of the city.
These artists have become much rarer. The list includes Wayne Newton and Donny Osmond, who have residencies at Caesars Entertainment's Flamingo and Harrah's respectively.
There's arguably only one other artist on this list, and he just extended his legendary off-Strip residency for another full year.
Barry Manilow continues to tour
Although Las Vegas has long been his musical home, Manilow also has a residency at Radio City Music Hall and is on a tour he calls “The Last Concerts.”
The artist is promoting these concerts as the last time he will play in each city he visits on the tour.
“Don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime experience! Barry Manilow has been a towering figure in the music industry with a career spanning multiple genres and producing numerous chart-topping hits. Get your tickets now and see Barry perform his hits in a one-night-only concert,” his website shared.

Barry Manilow stays in Las Vegas
Manilow has extended his historic residency at the Westgate International Theatre through 2025. The new round of shows kicks off Valentine's Day weekend.
“Manilow has announced a full year of performances beginning February 13-15, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays of each month, approximately (there are no performances in July) through December 11-13. That's 48 dates in all. Tickets go on sale at WestgateResorts.com at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on July 19,” the statement said. Las Vegas Review-Journal Magazine reported.
The 81-year-old broke Elvis Presley's record for most Las Vegas residency shows last September, and has joked about wanting to continue at Westgate until he's 100.
“The Westgate Las Vegas has become my second home. I am thrilled to continue performing my hits for fans in such an iconic theater and venue,” he shared on the resort’s website.

When Manilow is not in residence at the International Theatre, he performs other acts, including several Elvis tribute shows and Kool and the Gang.
But Manilow, who has sold more than 85 million albums with 50 Top 40 hits, remains the star entertainer of the off-Strip establishment and shows no signs of slowing down.
