Investing.com – The Greek stock market closed higher on Tuesday; the gains of the sectors, and drove the indices higher.
At the close in Athens, the dollar gained 0.92%, reaching a new three-month high.
The best value of the session was Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:), up 5.91%, or 0.13 points, to close at 2.33. Following were Cars Motorcycles and Marine Engine Trade and Import Company SA (AT:), which gained 3.36%, or 0.09 points, to close at 2.77, and Crete Plastics SA (AT:), which rose 2 .86%, 0.40 points, until ending the session at 14.40.
The worst results of the session were Lavipharm SA (AT:), which fell 1.76%, that is, 0.01 points, to close at 0.78. Thessaloniki Water and Sewage Co SA (AT:) fell 1.23%, 0.04 points, to close at 3.22, and Fourlis Hld (AT:) fell 1.07%, 0.04 points, to 3.71.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 88 to 32 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold futures for February delivery rose 0.83% or 21.86 to $2,639.96 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities, Crude oil futures for delivery in February rose 0.93% or 0.66 to hit $71.65 a barrel, while Brent oil futures for delivery in March rose 0. .82%, 0.61, to $74.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD fell 0.51% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.30% to 0.83.
US dollar index futures rose 0.27% to 108.22.
