Investing.com – French stocks closed higher on Thursday as gains across the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the index gained 0.12%, while the index added 0.18%.
The best interpreters of the session in the were Such (EPA:), which rose 3.65 points or 2.67% to trade at 140.30 at close. Meanwhile, BNP Paribas SA (EPA:) added 2.51% or 1.40 points to close at 57.23 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:) rose 2.37% or 1.15 points to 49.59 at the end of the negotiation.
The session’s worst performers were L’Oreal SA (EPA:), which fell 13.60 points, or 3.21%, to trade at 410.10 at close. Hermes International SCA (EPA:) was down 1.95% or 37.20 points to close at 1,872.00 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:) was down 1.84% or 15.50 points to 829.10.
The best in the SBF 120 were Accor SA (EPA:) which rose 5.04% to 30.24, valneva (EPA:) which rose 4.26% to close at 5.14 and ICADE (EPA:) which rose 3.88% to close at 43.42.
The worst results were Actually (EPA:) which was down 3.83% at 38.12 in late trade, Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:) which lost 3.38% to settle at 68.60 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:) which fell 3.21% to 410.10 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered falling ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 304 to 224, with 99 ending unchanged.
Thales (EPA:) shares rose to all-time highs; up to 2.67% or 3.65 to 140.30.
The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% at 18.96, a new 52-week high.
Gold futures for June delivery fell 7.90, or 0.39%, to $2,027.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trade, crude oil for May delivery fell 0.18, or 0.22%, to hit $80.43 a barrel, while the June Brent contract fell 0.19%. or 0.16 to trade at $84.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% at 1.09, while EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.25% at 0.88.
US dollar index futures were down 0.07% at 101.47.
