The billionaire businessman has just posted a message that is unequivocal support for cannabis.
Stoners couldn’t have dreamed of a better ambassador.
This ambassador has a strike force and power that has been steadily increasing over the past few months, allowing him to hit targets that even daily announcements and commercials couldn’t reach.
Elon Musk, the world’s most influential CEO, has just given cannabis lovers a great gift. The tech mogul just promoted cannabis for free. Marijuana is being legalized in different states of the country after decades of being prohibited.
The serial entrepreneur has just posted a message that will resonate with marijuana enthusiasts around the world. This message can be summarized in three numbers.
“420,” simply tweeted the Techno King, as Musk is known at Tesla, on February 4. He did not add any further comments.
Message seen by millions in less than 24 hours
The three-issue message resonated with millions of Twitter users. It has already been seen by more than 51.3 million in less than 24 hours.
The comments of the users of the platform reflected the satisfaction of the stoners who did not imagine benefiting from such a huge promotion of the boss whose news has been the most commented on in recent months by the media.
“I like weed,” one Twitter user commented.
“Possibly your best tweet,” another user added.
“Good,” another user joked.
This is not the first time Musk has used references to cannabis. Furthermore, the latest tweet was posted the day after a court decision cleared him of fraud allegations made by investors.
The latter based his accusations on Musk’s tweets in the summer of 2018 saying that he wanted to take Tesla private and have the financing secured. In these famous controversial tweets he had used 420.
“I’m considering taking Tesla private at $420. Funding secured,” the serial entrepreneur wrote on Aug. 7, 2018. “Shareholders could sell at 420 or own shares and go private.”
He’s also used the same numbers before on another big deal: the $44 billion acquisition of Twitter that closed on October 27. The tech mogul had offered $54.20 per Twitter share.
musk and grass
Musk’s Twitter message history is full of tweets mentioning 420.
“There are now 420 Starlink satellites in operation,” he rejoiced in 2020 as he touted the expansion of the satellite Internet access service developed by his company SpaceX.
“Due to inflation, the 420 is up a 69,” the billionaire said in 2021.
The reference 420 is also a gathering code for marijuana enthusiasts. April 20 or April 20 is known as “Marijuana Day” or practically a holiday for marijuana lovers. Smoking weed on April 20, preferably at 4:20 am or pm, has become something of a custom for cannabis lovers.
As it turns out, the tradition began in 1971 with a group of teenagers known as the Waldos, who grew up in Marin County, California, according to various reports. They were called the Waldos because they liked to hang out leaning against a wall and smoking pot at 4:20 p.m. every day. This “wall” was not far from San Rafael High School.
They dug up a 4/20 flag and stamped letters from the same era as evidence, all used as a code to designate cannabis.
Since then, the famous number 420 has been used for various reasons, including in movies. Several clocks in Quentin Tarantino’s “Pulp Fiction” were set to 4:20.
In 2003, California Governor Gray Davis signed into law SB 420, the “Medical Marijuana Task Force” bill introduced by State Senator John Vasconcellos. The bill regulated the use of marijuana.
Musk, who lived in California until 2021, has smoked cannabis in public. He smoked a live joint in September 2018 during a podcast show with highly controversial celebrity podcaster Joe Rogan.
Looking back, expect Musk to continue promoting cannabis in cryptic messages.
