Tesla CEO accuses the media of being racist towards whites and Asians.
Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla (TSLA) – Get a free reportHe is not afraid to meddle in all subjects.
Sometimes it even gives the impression of wanting to intervene in the hottest issues, those that divide society and often require special attention to the facts presented and be wary of possible misinformation.
The serial entrepreneur intends to build the image of a maverick, of a man close to people whose positions must be taken seriously.
Almost no subject seems to be taboo for him. He has made the culture war one of his fights. His goal is to defeat the “awakened mind virus” that, according to him, is destroying our civilization.
By this “awakened mind virus,” Musk is referring to progressive or change values that conservatives say threaten traditional values. Therefore, they accuse, Musk constantly repeats it, the “awakened mind virus” of canceling the culture. In other words, progressives are intolerant and want to erase all those who do not share their values of change, such as gender equality, gender identity, rejection of discrimination and racism.
Blacks are a ‘hate group’
It is in this context that Musk has just taken a position on the very sensitive issue of racism. He feels that the media has turned racist towards whites and Asians, suggesting that there is a pro-black and Latino bias in the media. Basically, the new racism is against whites and Asians.
Musk made his position clear after a user pointed out to him that Scott Adams, the creator of the classic ‘Dilbert’ comic strip, was dropped by several newspapers after a racist tirade about black people.
In a new episode of his podcast that aired on February 22, Adams cited a Rasmussen poll that said 26% of blacks disagree with the phrase “It’s okay to be white,” while 21% of blacks were not “safe.” This means that 53% of blacks surveyed agreed with this sentence. But Adams comes to the conclusion that 47% of blacks disagree with this statement, which leads him into a racist tirade. He deduced that blacks in general are a “hate group” and urged whites to “stay away” from them.
“I’ve been identifying as black for a while now,” Adams said. “I like to help and I always thought, well, if you help the black community, that’s the biggest lever, you know, you can find the biggest benefit. So I thought, well, that’s the hardest and the biggest benefit.” “So I like to focus a lot of my life resources and helping African-Americans so much that I started identifying as black just to be on the team. I was hoping, but it turns out that almost half of that team doesn’t think I’m okay to be. white”.
He continued: “But starting today, I’m going to re-identify as white because I don’t want to be a member of (…) a hate group. So if you have almost half of all black people who don’t agree with white people, according to this poll, not according to me, according to this poll. That’s a hate group.”
“The best advice I would give white people is to stay away from black people. Just stay away, wherever you have to go. Just stay away. Because there is no way to fix this. This cannot be fixed. Right.” ? This can’t be fixed. You just have to escape.”
‘They are racist against whites and Asians’
The fact that many media have broken their working relationship with Adams has offended some Twitter users who have not stopped expressing their discontent.
“Adams was horrified that a poll of black people showed that only half believe that ‘it’s okay to be white.’ He called this hate and recommended that whites live away from blacks. MSM verdict: Adams is a racist, but not the 20 million black people who think it’s not okay to be white,” one Twitter user posted on February 25.
It is interesting to note that the number went from 47% of blacks disagreeing to “half” of blacks. MSM is an acronym for Major Mass Media. It should also be noted that 21% of black respondents were “unsure” rather than disagree with the statement. The statement itself is highly ambiguous, as “being white” could be interpreted in any number of ways, from being white to demonstrating white behaviors toward other races.
Musk, who is familiar with racial issues because he was born and raised in South Africa at the time of the racist Apartheid regime, wasted no opportunity to comment, concluding that the media has turned racist towards whites. Therefore, he seems to suggest that Adams is now the victim of new media racism.
“The media is racist,” the billionaire reacted, before adding another tweet.
“For *a* long time the American media was racist against non-white people, now it’s racist against white people and Asians,” Musk continued. “The same thing happened with elite colleges and high schools in America. Maybe they can try not to be racist.”
“Adams’s comments weren’t good. But there is an element of truth to this…it’s complicated. We’ve mostly leaned towards identity with predictable results, and current power is complicated. We were on the right track with color blindness and the need”. get back to it,” commented one Twitter user.
“Exactly,” the billionaire reacted.
There is one fact that Musk is right about: racism against Asians has been on the rise for three years. A national survey by AAPI Data and Momentive found that hate crimes against Asians have increased since the start of the pandemic: 1 in 6 Asian-American adults reported experiencing a hate crime in 2021, up from 1 in 8 in 2020.
2022 STATUS Index It shows that 1 in 5 Americans believe Asian Americans are at least partly responsible for COVID-19, up from 1 in 10 last year.
