Disney theme parks have no shortage of anniversaries to celebrate.
The Walt Disney Co. has done a remarkable job of noting important anniversaries and celebrations in recent years.
In previous years, anniversary celebrations at Disneyland were fairly low-key, usually punctuated with television specials for the 10th anniversary in 1965, the 25th anniversary in 1980, the 30th anniversary in 1985, and the 35th anniversary in 1990.

But Disney World’s Magic Kingdom went all out for the 25th anniversary celebration that began on October 1, 1996 and lasted until January 31, 1998, as it decorated Cinderella’s Castle like a huge pink birthday cake with candles, life buoys and jelly beans.
Disney World 50th Anniversary Wrap Up

Disney World’s Animal Kingdom, which opened on April 22, 1998, celebrates its 25th anniversary on Earth Day, April 22, 2023, featuring sweet and savory treats, special merchandise, and limited-time character sightings. The park will also feature popular character Moana on Discovery Island for the first time to welcome visitors beginning April 22. Disney promises that more surprises will be revealed at a later date.
The Disney100 Platinum Celebration Begins
The Disneyland Resort on January 27, 2023, kicked off the Disney100 Platinum Celebration to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Walt Disney Co. (DIS) – Get a free reportfoundation, which lasts all year. Disneyland presents its Wondrous Journeys nighttime show, while California Adventure presents its World of Color – One nighttime show at Paradise Gardens Park.
Disney World plans to join the Disney100 celebration later this year at Epcot with Spaceship Earth lighting up the nights with a special lighting design, a special platinum Walt Disney sculpture and a meet and greet with Mickey and Minnie in special platinum outfits.
Epcot will also host a new nighttime extravaganza around the World Showcase Lagoon with a dazzling display of fireworks, lasers, music and lights. The event’s soundtrack will feature an original composition along with select songs from the Disney songbook.
