Many people don't want to worry about arriving at all while on vacation. But if you're taking a cruise vacation, you can't always forget the clock.
In Carnival and other large cruise lines, passengers have often established dinner times and if they want to enjoy certain shows and activities aboard the ship, they must also pay attention to the cruise activities schedule.

Although cruises often cross in different time areas during their trips, most maintain their schedule in a constant shipping time, which generally stands over time in the exit port of the ship.
While on board a carnival cruise, you can always find the current shipping time in the Carnival Hub application. Leaving the synchronization with the shipping time does not usually worry while it is at sea, but things can be complicated when you leave the ship in a scale port.
In a recent publication in the Carnivalcruisefans community in Reddit, a carnival cruise revealed how problematic it can be to leave synchronization with the shipping time while enjoying its time in the port.

Carnival Cruiser shares shipping time
“I have been in multiple cruises. I heard that the (cruise director) mentions the shipping time, but I never had to pay attention. My phone has always remained in the standard schedule. There is no problem,” Great_Huckleberry709 began.
However, visiting a scale port in a time zone different from that which came out can cause some important problems, such as this cruise discovered in Jamaica.
“Well, I just left the horizon, and in the morning of our port of Jamaica, both my wife and (my) telephone schedules date back an hour. We do not notice until we were already out of the ship,” Great_Huckleberry709 explained.

“Apparently, not only did it happen to us, a couple of people stayed at the dock, a rather large group of people arrived on board just on time. And I heard of several people who lost their excursions completely due to the confusion of time.”
Although getting out of synchronization with the shipping time, fortunately, it did not make this cruise be lost the ship, dinner was lost.
“Interestingly, we lost dinner that night because of the synchronization problems. Once back to our room, the wife and I shower and take a good winter nap. We woke me up in” 8 “to dress very quickly for dinner. I tried to register in the application of the Hub, just to discover that the check-in was now closed,”
“I don't know how we forget that our phones moved away from the shipping time, but due to that error, we were stuck with the delicatessen line for dinner.”
Cruises offer tips to stay in shipping time
In Reddit thread comments, experienced cruises shared their techniques to avoid this rookie error.
Some passengers make sure they turn off the phone configuration that automatically adjusts time when traveling to a different time zone. The cruises reported that in some cases, putting their phones in airplane mode did not avoid the automatic adjustment of the time zone, so it is better to simply change this configuration.
Other cruises shared that when they left the ship in a call port, they established a timer for how many hours they have there.

“We also establish a timer. If we are going at 11 am and we need to return to 5 pm, the timer is configured in 6 hours,” Tn_notahick wrote.
GREAT_HUCKLEBERRY709 pointed out that the timer trick also helps in case you forget what time you need to go back on board.
Surprisingly, several cruises shared that they do not trust their phones to track time in the port. Instead, they take a bracelet watch approach from the old school.
“That is why I always use my good analog watch Timex Old Fashion when I sail,” said Sdega315.
