Although Carnival Cruise Line refers to itself as the US cruise line, the company is proud to have a workforce composed of people from all over the world.
In addition to promoting diversity in its operation, the cruise line creates an environment aboard its ships that welcomes passengers around the world and all areas of life to join to enjoy a fun vacation in the sea.

When it comes to defending diversity in its workforce, Carnival Corporation was appointed one of the best employers in the United States for Diversity by Forbes in 2024.
But these days, being known for diversity as an American employer can lead to a violent reaction. And the carnival brand ambassador Cruise Line, John Heald, discovers it while answering the questions and concerns of passengers on their popular facebook page.
Heald does not shy away the controversial issues and recently confronted bias concerns when a passenger wrote him to insist that Carnival is not giving Americans a fair opportunity when hiring for their highest positions on board.

Carnival Passenger says that Cruise Line “Slams Door” in the American Talent
“John, if Carnival is an American company with an American CEO, why none of the captains or his first US officers? It is shameful that Carnival does not hire the Americans,” wrote the unidentified passenger to the brand's ambassador.
According to this passenger, Carnival should be recruiting captains and superior officers of the US Navy.
“The United States has the largest and best navy in the world.
The passenger demanded an explanation of the carnival brand ambassador.

Heald shared the passenger message in a publication on his facebook page to address the concern publicly and establish the record in the hiring practices of the cruise line.
“Thank you and please let me tell you what I know. The door is not beaten to anyone,” emphasized the brand's ambassador.
“In the bridges of our ships we now have so many different nationalities. (OFF) In the upper part of my head, I can say that we have Italian and Croatian captains. In the positions of the bridge and the engine, we have Italians, Croats, Bahamians, Romanians and many other nationalities,” said Heald.
The brand ambassador also pointed out that several women occupy marine operations positions with the cruise line.
“And yes, we proudly have many lady officers on the bridge and in the engine control room that are increasing in rank.”
The carnival brand ambassador promises that jobs are open to all nationalities
The brand ambassador also explained that Americans occupy other high -level stalls aboard their ships.
“In the positions of senior manager, we have hotel directors and other department leaders of the United States, including, of course, some of our best cruise directors,” said Heald.
The final result: Carnival's employment opportunities are open to all nationalities.
“My point here is that each job is open to all if you have the right grades and the desire to work for the most fun cruise line in the world,” emphasized the carnival brand ambassador.

What really matters is that each person hired by the cruise line is qualified and capable of doing the job, as other passengers indicated in the comments on the publication.
“I don't care about the captain's nationality; I care that he knows how to maneuver the ship correctly. I don't know how many Americans have the door” beaten in the face “, but I suppose this is not true,” wrote Dorlee Kreitzer. “When navigating, I appreciate all the crew members and I do not think much about their nationality or worry about the amount of each nationality in the crew positions, I relax and appreciate your service.”
While enjoying your upcoming cruise vacations, do not forget to show some appreciation for all skillful crew members and workers around the world who make it possible.
