(Reuters) – Digital news website Business Insider said on Monday it had named Jamie Heller as its new editor-in-chief, replacing Nicholas Carlson who announced his departure from the role earlier this year.
Heller has worked at the Wall Street Journal for more than 20 years, covering global business and technology, including artificial intelligence and the dominance of tech giants.
“I'm also a long-time follower of Business Insider. I subscribed several years ago because I had to; it's that good. Now, I'm beyond excited to take this tremendous publication to new heights,” Heller said in a statement.
In May, Carlson announced his decision to step down from his role and said he would remain with the company as editor-at-large after a new editor-in-chief was appointed.
Business Insider, a news website created in 2007 by German media conglomerate Axel Springer, initially launched as a “Silicon Alley Insider” focused on startups and technology. Over time, it expanded its scope to cover finance, markets, and a variety of other industries.
