(Reuters) – BlackRock Inc (NYSE:) said it was cooperating with a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission investigation into its investment advisers’ record-keeping of electronic communications, according to a filing filed on Friday. .
The asset manager is the latest in a list of financial firms under scrutiny from the regulator. Earlier this week, fargo wells (NYSE:) said US regulators were investigating the bank’s withholding of employee communications about “unapproved” messaging tools.
The SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) fined 16 financial firms last year a combined $1.8 billion after their employees were found to have discussed deals on devices and personal applications.
