The Dow Jones rose 75.14 points to close at 32,105.25 after falling more than 500 points in the previous session. The S&P 500 advanced 11.75 points to close at 3,948.72, while the Nasdaq rose 117.44 points to close at 11,787.40.

On Wednesday, stocks fell after the US central bank announced a quarter point interest rate hike. Meanwhile, Fed Chairman Jerome Powell’s comments became fodder for significant debate on Wall Street as investors tried to gauge whether the central bank was close to ending its rate hikes.
Oil prices fell on Friday, extending losses from the previous day, on concerns about a possible supply glut after US Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said refilling the Strategic Petroleum Reserve of the country or SPR could take several years.
Brent crude futures U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell 52 cents, or 0.7%, to 69.44. dollars a barrel.
