Alaska Airlines (New York Stock Exchange: ALK) is the latest US airline to announce a major hiring wave, with plans to hire thousands of workers in numerous roles.
According to the announcement, the airline plans to hire 550 new pilots, 1,000 flight attendants, 1,000 customer service agents, 240 contact center agents, 135 maintenance technicians, 100 ramp service agents, and 500 people in all managerial capacities. In total, 3,525 new employees are being sought.
The airline said the bulk of the new roles are in the Seattle and Portland hubs, with some flexibility for remote work in certain roles. No prior airline experience is required for many of the roles.
