Yuga Labs’ Twelvefold Collection elicits a huge reaction on Twitter from all corners of the web3 community. After the Twelvefold artwork was revealed, many web3 creators, builders, and influencers took to Twitter to announce their disappointment. Despite this, Twelvefold remains a high-performing collection of late. Let’s hear the views on the latest BTC NFTs from the community.
Twitter reacts to TwelveFold
At first glance, the TwelveFold NFT project has similar characteristics (more or less) with Jack Butcher’s “Checks” NFT project. The Checks NFT project made headlines when it was shot across web3 as a statement about verified identity and status. TwelveFold on the other hand, not so much. Jack Butcher coincidentally has 12 “One Check” holders in his draft and updated the NFT metadata to reflect “TwelveFold”. Perfect meme moment.
Other tweets sparked a debate about the subjectivity of art and how it compares to Checks and Art Blocks and other abstract collections. TwelveFold, being a major collection of BTC NFT abstract art, gets the benefit of the doubt. Also, the set is from Yuga Labs, and given their track record, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say at some point, this set may make sense.
Lead NFT analyst NFTStatistics.eth also comments on how underwhelming the artwork is. Replies to this tweet call out Yuga Labs for the project claiming it is a rug pull. However, Yuga Labs specifically advertised TwelveFold as an art project, with no roadmap, no utility. Therefore, it cannot be classified as a rug.
It’s no exaggeration to say that Yuga Labs has almost always delivered on its NFT projects and narratives. Why should this be any different? The infamous brand tagline “Never Fade Yuga” is a proven testimonial to their projects, skills, and narrative expansions.
However, the future of BTC Ordinals and how Yuga may plan to expand this further into his narrative remains a mystery.
