After a stellar 2023, developers Horizon Blockchain Games, who are also behind the popular web3 Sequence wallet and development platform, have revealed a series of plans that will boost the burgeoning web3 collectible card game even further in 2024.
The team is hard at work on 3 features that will take Skyweaver to the next level: Tournaments, Draft Mode, and a New Economy!

Economic update
Skyweaver excels in its gaming experience, but to date has only introduced three methods for earning in-game money; Silver cards, gold cards and conquest tickets. This is scheduled to change in 2024.
Two new in-game currencies are on the way; Sparkle and fabric.
Spark will be acquired through the free Skypass and will be used to create non-blockchain base cards and participate in free tournaments.
Weave will be purchased through the premium Skypass (a monthly fee of $14.95) and will be used to mint Silver and Gold cards, skins, and cosmetics on-chain, and to participate in premium events with larger prizes.
According to community director Marcelo Suplicy, more details will be shared in January, ahead of the introduction of Spark and Weave later this year.
Card rarities
Cards in Skyweaver are classified into one of three grades; non-tradable base cards and tradable silver and gold cards. In 2024, these will be increased with the introduction of card rarities.
This system will allow the creation of “rarer” versions of cards at the cost of more Spark and/or Weave, creating a much more complex and intricate market economy with rare and highly desirable versions of cards.
For example, gold cards are currently the most sought after in Skyweaver. If a Gold card were also a legendary rarity (for example, the rarest possible), the resources required to create that card and its subsequent rarity could make it incredibly sought after and valuable to private collectors.
An exact schedule for the introduction of rare cards has not yet been set, although they are expected to arrive in 2024.

draft mode
Skyweaver currently features two main game modes; Constructed: Your standard “build a deck and play” experience, and Discovery, where you are assigned a random deck of cards each game. The latter will be replaced by a staple of the TCG genre: Draft.
In the draft, 4 players will compete against each other using decks created from newly opened packs. Over a series of rounds, players will select one of eight elemental Dragon Heroes, their 32-card deck, and a series of Events, deck modifiers that can influence which cards you choose.
Players can enter one Daily Draft Promotion per day using Spark, with a chance to win tickets to the Weekly Draft Cup, a qualifier for the Seasonal Draft Championship. Relic Drafts, entered through Weave, also offer higher Weave rewards and will include trading cards within the Draft, which players will keep if they are selected.
Draft mode will be introduced in the first quarter of 2024.

World Championship 2024
The competitive Skyweaver scene has been growing steadily over the past few years, and in 2024 the first official World Championship will be held.
Players can begin their journey to becoming a World Championship finalist by participating in Daily Constructed or Draft Tournaments, arriving in the first quarter of 2024. These will qualify the best players for the Weekly Cups, with prizes including Weave, USDC and tickets for the Season Championships. The top players in each seasonal championship will receive significant Weave and USDC prizes, and one of 32 coveted global invites.
The 2024 World Championship will see the largest USDC prize pool in the game, along with unique tradable items and the opportunity to design and/or appear on a Skyweaver card, working alongside their talented art and design teams.
