Former President and Republican front-runner Donald Trump and his campaign announced Tuesday that they will begin accepting cryptocurrency donations. This is the first time a major American political party has adopted digital currencies for campaign donations.
The Trump campaign introduced a fundraising page that allows federally authorized donors to contribute using any cryptocurrency accepted on the Coinbase platform.
This can be seen as a sign of Trump's growing embrace of financial technology and his continued stance on reducing government control over individual financial decision-making.
