Geneva, Switzerland, October 9, 2024 – TRON DAO was proud to host the TRON Builder Tour at Columbia University with Blockchain in Columbia and Boston University Blockchain on October 5. The TRON Builder Tour combines hands-on workshops with rich discussions, connecting students, developers and mentors.

Previously, TRON DAO has hosted successful TRON Builder Tour events at prestigious institutions such as MIT, Cornell, Princeton, and Harvard, fostering deeper connections and advancing blockchain knowledge within academic communities.

TRON Builder Tour: Stop in Columbia

The TRON Builder Tour hosted a hackathon at Columbia University on October 5, co-hosted by Blockchain in Columbia and Boston University Blockchain. The 12-hour event attracted more than 120 student registrations, all eager to develop the TRON blockchain. Attendees included people from prestigious institutions such as Harvard, Boston University, New York University, Berkeley, Columbia, the University of Waterloo, and Princeton. Veteran developers and early TRON community builders flew from all over the US to help students with their projects. Mentors included Dwayne Gordon, founder of a TRON community project, Eder Teixeira, a TRON super rep, and Wes Jorgensen from Boston University Blockchain. Their collective experience provided students with invaluable knowledge and guidance, reinforcing TRON's commitment to fostering innovation and education within the blockchain space.

Throughout the hackathon, students developed decentralized applications (dApps) in four areas: DeFi, Artistry, Integration, and Web3. The three best projects in each theme received their respective share of the grand prize.
