Do Kwon, the co-founder of Terraform Labs, who has been on the run since the collapse of the $40 billion Terra-Luna ecosystem in May, has been arrested by local police in Montenegro.
- according to a cheep by Montenegro’s interior minister Filip Adzic, police have detained someone suspected of being Kwon at Podgorica airport, and authorities are awaiting official confirmation of identity.
- Let’s remember that Kwon was reportedly last seen in Serbia after leaving Dubai in December while still on the run from authorities. It is worth noting that Montenegro shares its borders with Serbia.
- The South Korean Ministry of Justice requested the Serbian government’s help in finding Kwon if he was indeed in the country.
- Minister Adzic revealed that the suspect detained at the airport was caught with forged documents.
“Montenegrin police have detained a person suspected of being one of the most wanted fugitives, South Korean national Do Kwon, co-founder and CEO of Singapore-based Terraform Labs,” the minister said.
- The United States, Singapore and South Korea currently require the individual arrested.
